'02 VP package engine swap to the Vtec in-line 4

I own a '02 Accord in the VP package (F23A5 engine). I recently had the engine give out on it and discovered the world of low mileage JDM imports while looking into options available to me.
I'd have already pulled the trigger on one save for one detail. I can't find any info confirming that the Vtec in-line 4 (F23A1 and the like) can be a direct swap. I feel like the answer would be yes, given the examples I've seen of both engines but thought maybe one of you fine humans would know for sure.

Any help would be appriciated.

Alright, I pulled the trigger after hearing back from one of the JDM dealers I'd asked if it would strait swap, confirming it will be. They also have a performance and fit warranty that covers the cost of shipping back to them as well as a help line. So it feels pretty safe, especially considering I was a fabricator for many years so if something needs a little tweaking, I'll be able to make it happen.
I have the engine and a game plan. If all goes well, I'll have a very clean and nicely running F23A1 replacement/upgrade for the nearly 300k war horse F23A5.

I'll do my level best to post the result. Oh, I'll also be swapping out all the wearable parts to get the best out of it.
