Friend of mine has a blown 97 Talon Auto TSI, bought another 97 Eclipse GST 5spd Convrt. His big idea, swap the auto AWD drivetrain into the convertable and sell it for $16k. His reasoning was that AWD was good for Ohio's weather and that someone would want a sporty car without the hassle of shifting.

He also had plans of putting a T3/t4 on the GST and didn't know he needed to change the downpipe, he thought it would be a direct bolt in. He also planned some other mods and didnt think it would be worth the money to tune it.

Both me and his dad told him he was full of ****.

Been done before. You just use it as an afc and the vtec stuff won't work.

Been done as well. Everything is swapable, no fabrication. But, it doesn't sound like he can tackle it.
