The are not unreliable, they just are not as reliable as similar age Japanese cars but are way more reliable than American cars of that era. Remember, the newest you can buy is a decade old. Plus, it depends on if you are talking stock or heavily modded. I only had one unexpected problem that was costly, my Mom's Ford that was 1 year newer had about 10 and she owned it for less time. Would I want one now, no, only because their are better cars around.
Anyway, I am really feeling the Cadillac CTS V right now. I cannot afford it but it is something that at some point that I know I would be able to afford.
