    Valve Cover Woes

So, pulling off my valve cover the other day, I noticed a rater terrible thing. Two of the studs came off with metal on them. I inspected the holes, and sure enough, they're stripped.... Some moron of a PO decided to over torque them, I assume. one of the bolts still torques properly, the other...

    R3dC4p's 2000 EX Sedan 'Weiss'

I do feel the pain of the northerners, I promise. I'm originally from Northeastern PA. right on the New York State border. I spent many, many hours with Bondo, Fiberglass, and sheet metal to make new rockers, repair rear quarter... etc. North Carolina is a breath of fresh air when it comes to...

Timing belt is a good idea, I have no idea when it was last replaced, didn't actually think of that. And I'll get some more pics of it tomorrow before I actually get to cleaning it up. Interior needs some... Work. Haha

Honestly, I'm not all that comfortable doing a manual swap, and I don't know anyone that would. I'm debating between keeping it stock and well maintained as far as power-train goes, or J/H swapping. Problem with a Jswap is that the auto transmissions aren't exactly stout.

Haha, there's a pic and a list in the members rides forum. Not much work, honestly. Suspension stuff, wheel bearing, some gaskets. Got it from a friend.

That spray job looks phenomenal, I think I've seen your ride on another Honda forum back when I had my civic. When I respray my Accord, I'm actually planning on using airwrap because of your posts. :P Also, Greetings from North Carolina, fellow Pennsylvanian!

Here she is, finally, 270,000 miles of twisted steel and sex appeal. Well. Not yet. She needs some work, but the body is in fantastic shape. First step is getting her back to oem spec. To-do: Valve cover gasket Distributor seal Tune up Struts all-round Wipe the stupid srs light. Wheel bearing...

    Transmission alternatives?

Anyway, Thanks for the help, I'll for sure keep everyone posted on my progress. I'm starting a thread once I can post pictures. :)

    Transmission alternatives?

All those signals from the sensors are just voltages. The ECU reads them and interprets them, then decides =what to do with it. AEM has a piggy back that basically forwards good signals to your ECU and does the controlling itself. Shouldn't throw emissions with it. Runs around 300$ Look up AEM F/IC.

    Transmission alternatives?

Hahaha, Never heard of said channel. I do have to pass emissions, sadly. I have heard of someone rigging a p28 to piggyy back off of the stock ECU in a low boost scenario? Might have to do some research there. I know you can spoof sensor signals too. In the end, might just be an AEM F/IC. I've...

    Transmission alternatives?

I love a good challenge! I also like that my accord was practically free (250$ from a friend) and needs no body work. I hate doing body work. :P I might consider a swap at a later date, or a different accord, but it was a really cheap, good condition car, and for now, I want to see where...
