    All the WRX models have the same engine's. Someone posted that the RX8 needs an engine rebuild every 100k miles, and that is very likely true. They just dont last. Expect the WRX to also need a rebuild at 130k, they are not so durable either...

    My 1999 v6 does the weak start/stalling when heat soaked. I am going to try the FPR test and if that doesn't fix it I guess it is the Main relay. Every honda should come with an extra one of those in the glove box.

    Royal purple has been tested and I am pretty sure it is not sludge in a bottle. Not that I am saying you should use it, just that it wont on it's own destroy your engine.

    Some oils contain stronger detergents and can actually dissolve sludge that was there before from poor change habits. It doesnt sound like this test considered that.

    How hard is it to remove the cluster from the dash? What do you do after you take those 2 screws in the top out? I have not gotten a chance to look at it closer myself.

    Sounds like your 25year vet isn't that good of a mechanic. I would get my $700 back and take it to someone else. The transmissions that honda sells for these cars are all rebuilt units these days.

    Engine Oil adddtives (PICS of LEAK are UP!!!)

    Its hard to see where that leak is coming from in those pictures, they show more of where the oil drips down to. Looks like most of it is on the transmission and not the engine, maybe you should check the transmission fluid level.

    This sounds like an alternator problem. Get it tested, its free at most auto parts stores. Most charging systems will put out 14.5 volts, so 13 is very low. Battery voltage is 12.5. Are you checking at the battery terminals? Are the terminals clean and tight?

    There are transmission supply shops that sell to all the trans rebuilding places, they sell pretty much anything available as a replacement internal other than dealer parts. Rebuilding to stock should leave you with a transmission that is, well, like brand new. If you want to change the shift...
