As I was driving home from work just now the D4 light on my dash started flashing. Is there a way I can read the code myself? Or should I go to Autozone or the dealership?

OBD scanner needed...

Autozone should tell you what the codes are.

None of those should have an adverse effect on starting the vehicle. What does it do when you try to start it?

All of those but the P1457 are transmission codes. How does the fluid look?

I haven't checked the fluid, it only has 500 miles since it was changed. When I try to start it all I hear is the starter click. Wasn't sure if one of these codes would be telling the computer that the car is in drive.

Guy at Autozone suggested I run seafoam through the tranny As well.

If the starter is clicking, you have a power issue somewhere. Check grounds, and then verify charge on the battery.

As for the tranny, I don't think I would suggest running seafoam in it. When was the last fluid change before this?

Couldn't tell you when the last change was before me. I have only had the car for a year.

The thing is, it probably wasn't. Now all the friction material in the old fluid that was helping the tranny work is gone and causing the tranny to not work properly. That's why you shouldn't change ATF on a tranny that you haven't been doing it it's whole life.

I didn't have a choice. Changing the radiator and removing the lines when I changed the motor it drained out.

Also just going to add the transmission cooler while I'm at it.
