Nice pick up, can't wait to see how this one turns out since the last one was amazing. Quick question, how are you going to go about putting an h22 into an 02. Thought you couldn't pass smog with an h22 in an 02?

Thanks guys! I don't know how to drive a manual so I need to learn that first haha and as for smog I don't really know at the moment. My friend will be swapping it for me and he said he will try his best to get it so that it can pass smog.

Im pretty sure you can't pass smog if you put an older motor into a newer car. So since the h22 came out of a prelude which was only made up to 2001, it won't pass in an 02. You should probably get a second opinion but I believe this is correct.

Nice pick up! I wouldn't force the H22 swap until around 210k if the engine is running strong, but that's just me.

Engine runs fine I just want more power out of it haha but I'm not in a rush for the swap. I picked up a pretty much complete swap of the JDM H22A for $300. Whatever parts was missing my friend has spare parts he can hook me up with I think. The engine was all in pieces so my friend is going to put it together and change out all the seals etc, basically a brand new engine. But before the swap I will drive around with the stock motor to get used to manual before I put a faster motor in it! My main priority right now is put on all my upgrades off my old coupe, get it registered, etc :)

Yea Cali's right. Legally you can only swap and bar'd a newer motor into a older car. But first manual car? Youre gonna love it, i wont settle for any car unless its stickshift, but thats just me haha. Just remember not to practice on a steep hill haha

Really? That's lame lol.... Oh well hahaha and yeah first manual car! My first 6ga was a gift. My cousins had it when they were younger and it's been sitting out for years. They gave it to me for free and I revived it. It was in pretty bad condition. Took a few thousand to get it running. I loved that car so I had to get another one! I heard manual was more fun so I had to ditch the automatic and give it a try. I heard it sucks in traffic though lol. Yeah I'm actually kind of scared to go on hills with the manual. Seems difficult...

Manual is easy. Do it for a couple weeks and you will have it.
