I just wanted to make a thread for any and everything detailing related. I am hoping this will give everyone some entertainment, and eye candy to let people enjoy coming to this site more often to check things out. Whether you just washed and wax your car, cleaned up the interior, or did some paint correction, post it up here with or without pictures(pictures preferred).

I will start things off with a headlight restoration I did for a friend over the weekend. He is planning to sell it and wanted to spruce up the front end a little bit to retain more value for his car.

Started off with two oxidated headlights

Right side Uncorrected

Corrected

Left side uncorrected

Corrected

End result

Process:
Clayed with Nanoskin autoscrub sponge(fine grit)
3" Meguiars Microfiber disk with Meguiars M101 compound
3" Lake country white pad with Menzerna Power finish
Sealed with Wolfgang fuzion sealant

I would really appreciate if you guys can keep this thread going, and thanks for reading. Any questions, or comments, feel free to ask or leave a comment.

My friend did not want to go all out on perfecting it. He only requested to make it look good again and I explained to him the options as well.

Most recent thing I did was clean up a friends 08 Tiburon just before it snowed.

When I was at the back of the car I couldn't get over how swirled his tails were so I took the flex w/ an orange pad and some duragloss plastic lens polish to them. He didn't request it so I didn't sand, but the improvement was night/day.

Looks much better Roy. You and your cheapness prevails.

Looks like the clarity and gloss is restored. Great job.

Re: What did you do today Detailing related?

The Meguiars glass cleaner is ammonia free. It is safe to use on tint windows as well which is the number one reason of being liable for damaging tinted windows. This product can be used on the exterior and interior windows.

Using water with a microfiber towel will mostly work on lightly dirtied windows and not anything with grease, or a thick dirt of film on the surface of the windows. The Meguiars glass cleaner even diluted at 10 part water 1 part concentrate can tackle 70-80% of all window conditions.
