Re: Looking to upgrade from the 6th gen, any ideas?

Those Crosstreks look pretty neat. Not fast by any means, and you can only get a stick in the lower two trim levels. You get alot of utility for the low 20s and the AWD meets your snow requirement....

Re: proposal: Post limit before starting thread

I've tried. It's become especially difficult now that they created a separate group to house the FS posts. It appears that only 5% of the regular group's members have joined the new FS group.

Re: Which HID kit would you recommend?

Yes, please don't place HIDs in your stock halogen housings. You'll blind oncoming traffic and actually have less light output available for you to use. Either get a projector retrofit or an LED...

Re: proposal: Post limit before starting thread

This forum isn't exactly what I would call "bustling". Minimum post requirements might scare some away to busier, less restrictive forums.

Re: yellow fogs

I vote no Lamin-X. That stuff is garbage. It dries out no matter how many times you condition it with UV protectant. It's been known to craze plastic lighting assemblies to boot.

Re: Manual A/C knob blew out. Replacing with LED's?

Should work no problem. Word of advice, if the LED doesn't work right away, flip it 180. They only work when the current flows in the correct direction.

Re: DIY: Manual Climate Control Repair (Electrical Failure)

It's amazing how fragile these A/C controllers are. I've owned two 6 gens and both needed to be tinkered with multiple times.

I had one unit try to fry one of the brand new knob replacements. ...

Re: Lost brakes on freeway, WOOOOWZA

I lost a caliper bolt on my Miata on the freeway. When I would brake hard enough the caliper would tilt up and engage the inner barrel of the wheel. At low speeds it would completely lock up.

Re: 4 Lug Wheel help!!

Lug pattern on the 4-lugs are an odd size, that's for sure. I suggest a 5-lug swap to open up the realm of possibilities.

Re: DIY: Manual Climate Control Repair (Electrical Failure)

I had to buy no less than three climate control units before I could get one to even begin to fix. The plastic housing likes to rub the PCB over time, severing traces along the way. PITA
