Re: Enne's 1989 Honda Prelude Si 2.0 4WS

Glad you found your issue with that spark plug.
Man, that rotor screw looks beat. I've only seen 1 other like it (my son's 98 Civic). We found it doing a tune up.
If the filter on the left was...

Re: Cars & Coffee Lehigh Valley (PA/NJ) - Season opener is April 22 2018

Add at least 2 more hours to that for me. I'd have to leave at 10pm the night before just to get there in time.

Re: Missing Parts! Important For Finishing Timing Belt Replacement Project???

Congrats on doing all that work.:) I hope you rolled the engine over about 6 times after getting both belts changed. It's one of those things I do to make sure everything is good to go.
As for the...

Re: Psychic-tomato's 2000 accord ex coupe - f23 5-speed

They were up yesterday, as I saw the intake pic (1st one). Don't know if his server had a glitch.

Re: Frankensteins Official Thread

The single nut is a jamb nut. The rod actually has the other "12mm nut" on it (it's like a double ended stud).

Re: Missing Parts! Important For Finishing Timing Belt Replacement Project???

Don't turn on the engine, and don't turn the engine while the belt is off. Doing so can damage the engine, because some valves might be extended (open) that will hit the piston.
While you have the...

I know, but can't we have some fun with it being ON topic? He did ask the question.

Or tighten it until it breaks, then back off a 1/4 turn. :henry:

Re: Frankensteins Official Thread

You adjust pedal height thru the clevis attaching point inside the car (up under the dash). Mine uses two 12 mm wrenches to adjust.

Re: Jacking up car

Don't use the rear tow hook point, as that'll collapse the trunk floor. BTDT, had to get the BFH out to fix it.

Re: lug nuts and breaker bar

I hear you. Man I think about all those cheap azz steel lug wrenches/jack handles I broke years ago and it makes me feel like a "He man". I've even broke the nub off of 1/2 inch breaker bars trying...

Re: Jacking up car

Use the plate like it's called out in the owners manual, then put the jack stands in place like I posted above. If you're removing the tires, break the lugs loose before lifting it.

Re: Jacking up car

In the owners manual, it shows 4 square plates hanging down from the rockers. Those are the jack points that you use for jacking up the car, unless the metal they're welded to is rusty, or rusted...

Re: Jacking up car

Look in your owners manual for "changing a flat tire". It'll be toward the back of the book. Once you have it up, in front, look for something solid like a boxed beam to put your jack stand under. In...

Re: lug nuts and breaker bar

:henry: Exactly. Hell I used to use those flimsy tire iron/jack handles when I only weighed 135 lbs of nothing. Try that along side the freeway. If that doesn't scare the crap out of you, nothing...

Re: lug nuts and breaker bar

Then it's probably more than 85 ft lbs. You need to put more azz into it. If you can't break them loose now, how are you going to change a flat along side the road?

Re: Coolant leak

It might be coming from the hose above it, and dripping down to that point too. How about taking a shot with liquid visible, as it looks pretty dry there at the moment. You could check and see if...

Re: lug nuts and breaker bar

You do realize they're torqued up to about 85 ft lbs right? That means you have to really lay into that breaker bar with the car on the ground first. Crack the lugs loose, then jack it up and remove...

Re: F23A1 01 Coupe No reverse

Yeah, when he first posted, it sounded like he needed just a trans. Then he started posting about getting a F20B, then it became needing both.

In my case, if the AT ever quit in my wife's car, I'd...

Re: Another wtb thread - f23 parts / coupe parts

Agreed, mostly American iron around here. Hell even Craig's list is the same way. I've even looked in the Detroit metro section of Craig's list, and found nothing most of the time.

My son is a...
