Re: Transmission Issues, very hard shifting

Mine did this, and it just gets worse.

For the time being, I avoid first gear. Shift into "2" when coming to a stop, and then back to D4 above 10 mph or so, and it behaves itself. It's at least...

Re: Grounding or shorting problems?

Well, that's not a very complicated circuit. It's in the FSM page 22-109

Does the courtesy light in the door also behave that way? Does more than one of them do it?

That kind of behavior does...

Re: Replacing F23A4 with F23A?. Any new parts I need? + Can't remove AT drain plug

Even if you go to a pro shop, they'll flush the cooling system with tap water. It won't be particularly harmful because it's a short period of time, and there aren't going to be huge temperature...

Re: Ignition key cylinder

Well, it's a solution...

I disconnected the negative trigger for the key interlock solenoid. It still didn't want to let go of the key, meaning that the solenoid plunger was stuck engaged, which...

Re: Ignition key cylinder

Well, I'm gathering that people just don't know. Figures.

Okay, so this is day 4.

There doesn't seem to be anything on the 'net for looking at the actual key interlock solenoid. The general...

Re: Replacing F23A4 with F23A?. Any new parts I need? + Can't remove AT drain plug

Well, if you are replacing the timing belt, I am given to understand that replacing the water pump at the same time is generally recommended. Replacing the timing belt is something that I would...

Re: Ignition key cylinder

It seems to be the ignition interlock. I think that it's either the key release solenoid, or else the electronics that trigger the solenoid. (Given the overall electrical gremlins that seem to plague...

Ignition key cylinder

I can't remove the key from the ignition.

I believe that it is a problem either with the switching, or the key interlock solenoid itself, looking for possible solutions. Preferably cheap,

A...

Re: Po401 p0702

Well, from the shop manual, page 14-138, I've attached a couple screenshots for the transmission range selector.

Assuming that the shop manual uses the same terminology....

Re: Rear parking lights stay on

Looking at the circuit diagram, this is positive switched, so it's hard to see where this could happen. Also, the front lights are on the same circuit, so power at the tail light relay (With auto-off...

Re: Lighting issues

The white wire should have +12V when the ignition is on. If you put +12V to the green/black wire, the reverse lights should come on.

Re: DIY: Manual Climate Control Repair (Electrical Failure)

I'm having exactly the issue described, and need to track down photos. Photobucket! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Re: Lighting issues

For the reverse lights, fuse #9 in the in the underdash fuse block is the relevant one. Just to be certain, I'd check that it gets +12V when the ignition switch is on.

For an automatic...

Re: Instrument Cluster LEDs

My last visit to superbrightleds, the wedge lights for the climate control are mostly listing as discontinued.

There are still several threads on LED lighting, but the general conclusion there was...

Re: Trunk letting in water

I'd bet on the lights. The trunk seal shouldn't let in too much water, even if they're gone. The lights, on the other hand will just let the rain pour in.

Mine do this kind of badly. They also let...

Re: What is this wiring/switch for under dash? Keyless, alarm or remote start?

That looks very much like a remote start installation to me. Follow the wires from that mass of black vinyl taped mess in the top picture, and you'll find the control unit.

Re: Something electrical and strange happened to Connie on the way to work today.

14.5V is barely within spec, but usually not a problem, so long as it stays there, which it sounds like is happening.

It is normal for the voltage to drop somewhat at idle. this is because there's...

Re: Transmission woes. (DD)

It's often been said that the cheapest car to own is the car you own. Given that I own this one, I'll be repairing it.

The good news so far though is that so long as I start off in [2], the car...

Re: Transmission woes. (DD)

Looking at the SM for troubleshooting

"Vehicle moves in [2] and [R] but not in [D4], [D3], or [1] position"

This seems to be the symptom that I am experiencing. It did judder in the "does not...

Re: Transmission woes. (DD)

Well, much as I do like the car, I don't really have much of an attachment to it, nor to the Accord in general. (The car which I do have an attachment to should be obvious, LOL) This one has a fair...

Transmission woes. (DD)

My transmission seems like it's not long for this world.

Yesterday, after driving home without incident, speeds up to 120km/h (75mph) I got back in the car, and when accelerating from a stop, the...

Re: Heater Control Unit (A/C) help

I was taking my post from that FSM. There is a picture of the motor, it seemed clear enough to me, but it also appears that it may require the feed pipe to the fan to be pulled to see it.

Re: Heater Control Unit (A/C) help

1. Disconnect the 7P connector from the recirculation control motor.

Re: Radio stopped working?

There will be 2 fuses for the radio.

In the under dash box, they are #8 and #9.

#8 is a 7.5A relay which controls switched power. The circuit diagram seems to indicate that this is only used to...
