Serious Damage - Rebuilding of my baby

My advice is go to an auto auction. Our cars with higher milage go through there for 300-700 dollars all the time. There is one in barrie every weekend. Use all parts possible out of that car, then take it to the wreckers.

Serious Damage - Rebuilding of my baby

I have had bad success with them in canada. Ordered items on two seperate occasions where they say "in stock" on the website. Then I get an email saying they actually don't have them. Then I get a phone call from California asking if I would like a different brand of the same part... Both...

    Got some rims finally...

Thanks for the feedback, Yes, I like the deep dish version on Jordan_H's better... but this was a $300 dollar deal, with 90% tread :D There are two different sizes. The front is 205/50/17, the back is 225/45/17. I did some research, they are the same diameter, just prevents rubbing on...

    Engine Burning Oil (New)

I had the exact same issue. After replacing the engine from the Japanese engine place off Keele St and Lawrence, I still burn oil over 4000rpm. My buddy tells me I smoke at high rpms when he is behind me. But I still get 800+kms on the highway, 650+ kms in city per tank. My advice, save your...

Thanks for responding so quick. I was thinking of putting some fibreglass mesh on the underside and then pouring the epoxy in it, then maybe even gluing a piece of wood or something on the underside to reinforce. I will let you know if it works. Maybe even a DIY.

Hey, did you ever fix your cracked driver door armrest? If so, how? I both mine are shot, and I was thinking of using a plastic bonding agent. Trying to find someone who may have experience fixing them. Dealership wants 75 a side.

What'd you do to your accord today?

My driver door would barely open some times, so I went with some grease, and searched where it was sticking... Turns out it is the vertical seal beside the window that was catching. 1 swipe with a greasy finger, and it opens like new. Amazing how basic of a fix can help such a major pain.:shakehead:

WTB: Driver Side Arm Rest Assembly Coupe Grey Cloth

I am seeing if I can find the arm rest assembly for the driver side door panel. Grey cloth for my 01 coupe. I'm hoping you leather swappers may have it kickin around. The arm rest itself, and the actual plastic "cup" used to pull the door shut. Thanks guys.

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Sorry, been away. The main coolant connection which goes from the rad to your block. That piece has to be swapped and there is a little rubber ring gasket that costs 2 bucks.. and yes, I am talking canadian dollars.

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

As stated earlier, you'll need to swap your original intake and exhaust manifold, and get a couple gaskets for those as well as some coolant pieces. Seems its gonna cost anywhere from 1000-2000. My shop did it for about 1500 but that included putting a new timing belt and water pump on. Plus...

What'd you do to your accord today?

I installed some Fog lights on my coupe. They were cheap, (obviously) but I wanted fogs badly on a budget. I still have to paint surrounding the switch. It got scratched when I was cutting it out, so I sanded it and am gonna use touch up paint in black so it kinda matches the cruise and...

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

He took it out through the top with the tranny already disconnected. As for the mechanic himself, he didn't know he had to use the original intake manifold and exhaust manifolds, so when he put the new motor in, nothing lined up, had to take it out, and swap the manifolds. On this site in a...

Whats your MPG on a full tank?

Hwy Driving I get 800 kms :canada: / 500 miles to a tank. Thats about 27-28 mpg. City Driving I get 650-700 kms / 405-435 miles. Thats about 22-24 mpg. Japan F23A. Stock 5spd Tranny. Fresh tuneup. Although before I switched the motor it still got the same milage.

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Good to know! I just did a long trip (500kms) and got almost to 500 in the top half of the tank, which was what I was doing before, so maybe it just needed a good cleanout. It used about an inch of coolant in the reservoir. That is a small amount to detect :(. This may be a hassle and a half. I...

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

The winters are terrible here! Found another coolant leak. Well, haven't found a leak, but it is still using coolant. It's so cold here I haven't been able to really have a good look. I will have to wash the engine bay first, then drive it for a while. Any typical places I should look after...

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Coolant leaks are fixed. Anyone find their MPG dropped a bit doing this swap? I'm not sure why, but I mentioned it to my mechanic when he was fixing the final coolant leak. He said that it could be a bad O2 sensor after getting knocked around in the process, but that usually throws a code...
