    Well it didn't do the hard 1-2 last week after I posted but it has been doing it now all weekend and all day today, so I think it's finally doing it enough to bring it in and get some info. I did one more fluid change just for fun, but no dice. I should be taking it in Tuesday I think.

    I just wanted to report back on this... I did go ahead and do a 3 quart fluid change.. have not gotten around to the next 3 quart change... While there I also pulled out the lower solenoids which I believe control the 1-2 shift under the battery tray area and took a look at the "pipes"...

    In an F-body, (Camaro/Firebird), the TPS % is calculated into the car's downshifts.. it may have something to do with when these upshift as well based on speed and TPS throttle %.

    cajun... 113k miles. Car was fine this morning oddly enough, and I have a 25 mile commute to work. I'll be changing the fluid this weekend, gotta stop by the dealership.

    ah haha.. the A4 thing for me is from a different world entirely.. in the Camaro / F-body world an A4 is short for 4 speed Automatic :) I drag race a low 11 second 97 Z28 ;) I appreciate the advise guys, I will buy some Honda ATF tomorrow and change the fluid after work, drive it a few miles...
