    Ok correct me if im wrong but I thought a j30s have coil packs was it i4 at first if so then check all your grounds and then check all connections when I do engine swaps most of the time its a connection of some sort ground,power,sensor anything not there but normally a ground just my .02

    I dont have emissions either but all a cop gotta do is smell it and its probable cause to give u a ticket not cheap wherever you are i did the gutted cat too but in the end i was sick of smell and its rice as hell unless Ur turbo'd you car do whatever you want
