Allright today is the official start of my 6 speed swap. I have an 06 Accord transmission and the pedals and pieces from the i4 5 speed ready. Just need to buy a few more things from the honda dealership and I'll have it all.

I would be posting pictures right now, but when I attempted to drive to the shop.... I could not get past 2nd gear on the freeway :run:. Thats how you know your transmission is DEAD haha. So right now I'm waiting for a tow, and once I get there and buy some parts I'll post up some pics of the tranny for you guys. I'll also take pictures of the swap in progress.

Side note: I put this under "engine mods".... well it does say "bolt-ons" hahaha.

EDIT: 12/7/09 - I added the contents of my "6 speed swap email" that I send to people below here. Also, on page 30 I posted this. In short, the car's running great!
----------------

Here is my collection of information that I have on doing the swap.

Official Parts list: http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=90373

Summarized list plus a little direction: http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73383

Another member who just did the swap with accord tranny and shifter (shows his issues with tranny mounts towards end): http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=194475

Talks a bit about 7th gen shifter and cables, and about welding to tranny which we shouldn't need to do any more: http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73383&page=24

Some pics of someone putting the pedals in: http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73383&page=45

Parts diagrams for the swap: Both should be the same, but I'd rather be safe. http://writer.zoho.com/public/richiev6/Untitled1 http://writer.zoho.com/public/richiev6/Untitled1/script

Info concerning the pedals and spacers required, taken from harness thread:

"It is dimpled in your fire wall and will have to be drilled out (3 holes) and spacers need to be added between the firewall and pedal bracket.

I buy 3/4" solid bar stock, drill it and cut it in 10mm legnths.

BTW I have done about 8 AT->MT conversions in the last year..... "-NVA-AV6

"If you do not add the spacers you will not get enough pedal travel to properly operate the clutch and you will eaither not be able to release all the way or engage all the way, LOL ask Telele, he was pulling his hair out for about a year because of this, the people he had do his swap before meeting me did not put the spacers in and he thought he needed a new clutch and/or tranny. Needless to say he was a bit relieved and pissed when I put the spacers in and all his issues went away." - NVA-AV6

You can email Richie, the main man on swaps at
[email protected] if you run into any snags, or register on v6performance.net and send a pm to NVA-AV6

Thats my collection of info.... total cost was around 3k with the harness... maybe a little under. But my mechanic gave me an awesome deal. If you're going to do it on your own it could be even cheaper. Just search on car-part.com and keep a look out for a cheap tranny.

Rep if you found it helpful... I had to read for quite a few hours to figure it all out, and still I'm pretty lost on some of the stuff.

Hahaha Precisely!!! Someone apparently doesn't encrypt their internet :jae:

Speaking of which... maybe I should encrypt it and change the router's password... lol. Silly people putting themselves in danger!

Thanks for the support guys... I need it. I love my car, and having a broken tranny is like hacing a child who just broke BOTH of his/her legs >_<
