Talks a bit about 7th gen shifter and cables, and about welding to tranny
which we shouldn't need to do any more:

Parts diagrams for the swap: Both should be the same, but I'd rather be
safe.

Info concerning the pedals and spacers required, taken from harness thread:
"It is dimpled in your fire wall and will have to be drilled out (3 holes)
and spacers need to be added between the firewall and pedal bracket.
I buy 3/4" solid bar stock, drill it and cut it in 10mm legnths.
BTW I have done about 8 AT->MT conversions in the last year.....

"If you do not add the spacers you will not get enough pedal travel to
properly operate the clutch and you will eaither not be able to release all
the way or engage all the way, LOL ask Telele, he was pulling his hair out
for about a year because of this, the people he had do his swap before
meeting me did not put the spacers in and he thought he needed a new clutch
and/or tranny. Needless to say he was a bit relieved and pissed when I put
the spacers in and all his issues went away." - NVA-AV6

Thats my collection of info.... total cost was around 3k with the harness...
maybe a little under. But my mechanic gave me an awesome deal. If you're
going to do it on your own it could be even cheaper. Just search on
autopart.com and car-part.com and rockauto.com or whatever it is and keep a look out for a cheap tranny.
