Before I start, I'd like to ask the moderators to help out on this thread. Wheel fitment is tricky business because of all the dimensions your working with simultaneously, so I'd like to keep this thread as clean as possible.

Any questions related to the measurements needed, please PM me.

I want to buy a new set of wheels for my Accord, but I want them to fit perfectly. I'm sure many other people are in the same boat as I. There are a lot of threads about pictures of the wheels, but none about how to get them to fit correctly. Since there are so many variables, there is no one solid number for a perfect fit.

For starters on this please post a picture that shows how the wheel and tire fit in relation to the fender lips. This angle works well, so do several other angles. You may want multiple pictures if it is a real tight (aka: good) fit.

Next take a ride hight, to do this I use a piece of string with a weight on the end. Dangle the string straight through the center line of the wheel, mark it, and measure it. You will need this for F&R.

The last measurement you will need is camber f&r. If you don't have access to an alignment rack, bring out the string from the last step. Dangle it straight down through the center line of the wheel and measure the distance between the string and the wheel lip at the top lip and bottom lip. Subtract the bottom from the top, and post it (along with wheel diameter). I'll calculate your camber.

Finally you need the wheel dimensions including offset, and tire size.

Summary:
1-picture
2-ride hight
3-camber
4-wheel size
5-wheel offset
6-tire size

example of good wheel fitment, though the rears could use a 5-10mm spacer.

2-ride height = -2.25" from stock
3-camber = + 4.0 degrees from SPC Camber Kit on the Rear, +/- 0 on the Front
4-wheel size = 18 x 7.5
5-wheel offset = +45
6-tire size = 225 / 40 / 18

Spacers will not work for my car, I have rolled fenders and i still rub my rear.

does this help?

I have staggered fitment of 17x8 off+45 front and 17x9 off+45 Rear. With 225/45/17 all around. My normal ride (freeway) height is at 1 finger gap. And my cruising ride (0-45mph city) height is at tire tuck. The top pic shows my car at full slam, But see the camber is not maxed out. Pic on the bottom is about my crusing ride height, but see still less camber. I rolled all my fenders and trim my rear umper/fender tabs, relocated the bolt and mounts. No rubbing period unless i drive fully slammed.

Watermarks just for security purpose.

No rubbing ever ever ever. I use to rub when I had 225-40-18 tires and 18x7.5 RacingHarts. I was so ticked, I was driving the dragon's tail in TN/NC with this setup catching my rear fenders the entire time, it sucked. Never AGAIN!

Looked good, drove like crap - never again.

I deleted all the posts in this thread that weren't posts of members wheels specs/fitment. I think this has the potential of being a VERY helpful thread, and will keep the posting of new "will this wheel fit my car?" thread down to a minimum, and will give us a place to diect people when they post these threads, a lot like the Product Review Thread.

I would like to encourage members to please post their suspension and wheel setups in this thread because it seems like it never really got off the ground.

Thanks,

Justin
