I couldn't find any info on the subwoofer you listed (google search), but i have a full JBL sound system in my car and i am a fan of the brand. I am in no way an Audio professional, but I can vouch that their stuff (at least everything that i have heard, or owned) is good quality.

be like it is
a GTi MKII? :)

the price is about right. the box may be questionable though :lawl:

depending on that box, you may be able to stick with an amp thats 4 ohm stable when bridged. to be safe (and to ensure its going to keep working :lawl:) your amp should be 2 ohms stable when bridged. if it were a sealed box, i wouldnt even worry about it.

The box is tuned at about 31 hertz and 2.8 Cu. Ft. Fully resined. I'm so excited to get it hooked up. Still in class:(

But my amp is a monoblock. Alpine mrp-m850

at the ohm load I'm asumming it will get about 700 wrms

I'm upgrading from a ten inch Idmax:)

and my mistake. It is a gti mkii

well nothing really except for the fact that it was a 10. sometimes i felt as if the sub just wasnt capable of keeping up with my front stage.

i keep my settings flat for the most part and just tune from the amps. i dont use the bass boost on the sub or anything so everything played very well together.

just sometimes when the time needed to come around where i wanted to slap at a meet or what not. it couldnt cause the setup was just not made for it.

and i got the jbl in tonight and it sounds pretty awesome. only thing i'd say i like about the idmax more would be the tightness through rock and alternative music. the idmax even though its in a ported box, it sounds wonderful with all types. i had the box custom made as well.

im going to keep listening to the jbl gti mkii for a lil while longer to see what i like better.

but yeah... im more of a SQ guy overall.

Think you're turning into an spl guy

I'm surprised the idmax couldn't get loud...yeah it's a 10, but it's also a 1000w and is efficient...
