IIRC, you shouldn't mess around with the pre-load, and I think Andy(AMR) posted somewhere about that, I just don't remember which Forum I read that on.

For the preload, Andy told me (when they are off the car) to turn that collar (that preloads spring) with your hand until you can't turn it anymore and then make 1-2 turns with the wrench supplied and tighten the setscrew. That's how I did on my car when I had them, and it was the same way on F&F Type 2.5 coils too.

Oh don't tight it too hard, otherwise you will ruin the threads. I did turn it with hand and then did 1.5 turns and it worked fine. The reason you have to preset so the spring wouldn't wobble and make noise when you go over the bumps. Also if presetting too tight, it will ruin your ride as the spring will be compressed too much.

Unless that's not what is making the noise. Make sure endlinks don't touch the bottom of the coil. Even though mine didn't touch, I still had a noise in the rear. You can search for my thread, that's why I end up selling them and bought F&F Type 2.5 and couldn't be happier.

BUT I do hope it's the spring that's making the noise.

If it is really bouncy that means you have to soften and not to make it stiffer lol. I mean pre-load spring the right way and soften the rebound of the shock, put like 5 clicks from soft position.
