^ That looks like a really nice build man! Very clean. Do you still have the car?

So apparently the Integra has the rare B17 block from the 1992–1993 Integra GSR (DB2/DA9), combined with the P72-1 head, from a 2000 GSR, so my guess is that the head would be the B18C1 found in 1994–2001 USDM Integra GSR (DC2/DB8) - see casting marks below.

Here's a peek at the bolts which sheared off with the previous owner, I'm guessing he was revving too high for too long haha. 8 bolts total, here's some pics of 5 of them. I've already punched a starting hole in the center of each, and will undertake the drilling and tapping out of these suckers tomorrow:

Thanks man, just got another step closer today!

Took Christmas to extract all 8 bolts, it was very simple to do in just under two hours - the bolts were easy to drill and then just used an extractor bit:

Just ordered the replacement gaskets and new cam tower bolts, as soon as they come in it's going back together with the Crower stage 2 turbo cams! Still have to install the bigger intercooler.

Can't seem to figure this out, there is a strange box/reservoir in back of the block beneath the water pipe, seems like it is connected through a large gasket to the block, and runs coolant through it. Somehow there is 'chocolate milk' in there, which indicates to me coolant and oil mix in there somehow. Is there a way to delete this POS reservoir? What is it for?

I have searched on some other forums and actually have not found the answer.. I looked up parts reference on dealer websites such as oemacuraparts.com, and could not find this part pictured anywhere:

Any thoughts or ideas welcome, this one has me stumped. If I can't figure it out, I think I'm going to drain the block, blow out this reservoir with a high compressed air, and plug up the ports. Wish I could delete this POS period, but that would require pulling the block to press in a plug. Again if anyone has any ideas, please let me know what this things even is!! This is actually what the guy had his catch can hooked up to, lol no wonder it was full of coolant :lawl:.

I think I'm just going to flush that box with compressed air and see what happens, I gotta at least clean it out it's full of shit.

What I just got home to in the mail..

Nice!

Just a thought. Could it be some kind of cooler? (does it have fins on it?) it looks like something used to mount to it (the tab with a hole on it) or it used to be mounted somewhere else, unless it's an aftermarket part.

Can't wait for updates!

Just spoke with the guy I got car from, he states the PCV valve was connected to this box. So either this box is made for oil, and coolant got in there somehow, or he had the PCV connected there wrong to begin with and coolant belongs in that box, and it somehow got contaminated with oil.. Either or. Does that make sense? I'll have to literally prod down there. I can't believe I can't find info on it anywhere... Must be a super-rare block indeed, and other blocks must not have a similar PCV/Coolant system.

The b17 shouldn't be too different from the other b series vtecs. Maybe you should include b16 or b18 on your searches since those are a lot more common?

Good idea, but I can't find anything about this black box looking thing either way... Weird. Can't even find associated parts on dealer websites for this black box thing. You would think they would at least sell a replacement, or the seal for the box. Nothing to be found.
