Hey guys, I've search for a while and couldn't really find a straight answer so I thought i'd post.

I've seen a couple people on here with 3rd gen TL wheels on their cars and they look good and seem to fit but what about rubbing?

The wheels I were looking at are 17x8 with an offset of +38.
The tire size I was thinking of getting for these wheels are 235/45/17 (same size as TL).

My current setup is a '99 accord sedan with Eibach prokit.

Will it rub with these tires on these wheels?

Ohh Ok. I've been looking around some more and see that 225/40/17 should be ok.

What do you guys think?

you're going for a too "fat" of a tire. 225/40 on a 8in. width is too "meaty". i'd recommend a 215/40.

No. I got 225/40 on my 8in. rim and it's too meaty. I debating if I should purchase a set of 215/40 to replace them but it makes no sense for me to buy new tires if I'm selling the car. The 215/40 will give little to no stretch at all.

215 is pushing it on a 8 rim isn't it?

not really, I once had a 205 on a 7.5 before so,
215/40/17 on a 8 inch width rim is still ok, although it will looks kinda stretch and low-profile. None the less prolly your best bet of solving clearance issues if your car is slammed.. And make sure that the tire has a wight support rating of MORE than 1102lbs. on each front tires if you have a 4 cylinder.

speaking from my experiences in Accords the size of the sidewall should be:
xx/50 on a 16
xx/45 on a 17
xx/40 on a 18
xx/35 on a 19
These sizes can be altered as long as it can be compensated by the width of the tires. Note: the first 3 numbers on tire specs xxx/xx/xx.
