The headlights plastic cover had faded to yellow a while ago. I tried one of those headlight restoration kits, which didn't work very well, took quite a bit of effort and they were back to the same or worse condition about 6 months later.

Rock Auto has those parts at quite a reasonable price (~$35 each + shipping) and the thought of actually being able to see at night again is so promising. Here is the simplified install - took about 2 hours and it helps to have a buddy to take the bumper on and off







I did not do an alignment. The new lamps do not have a left right adjustment anyway, just up down. I'll have to hear back from the new owner (daughter) about the alignment.

Not that bad of a job really, sounds bad, but it isn't... much better than burning out an electric drill trying to re-polish the plastic

How is the light output of these? I tried two different sets of TYC ones and they both had dark spots on the beam. They looked great whent he car was parked though :eek:
