Re: 604ACCORDS 98 Sedan (H22a/5spd swap *in progress*)****LOWERED!! 3/11/2016****

Are those RL calipers? I haven't heard of S2000 or G35 pads being used with them, but then again I haven't researched that setup in awhile. Last I heard people were using 350Zed rotors with the OEM RL pads.

In other news how have I never seen that DIY! :eh: Added to master list.

I don't think those are RL calipers. RL calipers say Avid on them or something. Brembos are on the 3rd gen TL-S. Never heard of these going on a 6thgen but i've read people have put them on S2000's. For 50 bucks its worth a shot!

^You're right the ACURA logo is too small to be the RL Brembo's, or TL Brembo's for that matter. Maybe an older design?

^Hmm maybe. Excited to see how it turns out. Should be an interesting setup

I pulled these right off the car it was 06 TL-S if you google 06 tl-s brembo they are exactly the same. RL calipers use different mounts that require the bracket which is a better mounting system IMO, these calipers basically are the bracket and mount right to our existing caliper bracket mounts, I'm reading how a lot of people have the same problem with stripped thread due to steel bolt on aluminum caliper and the elements it makes them almost fuse together.

So here is the 2 different brembo calipers offered by Acura.

Acura RL top mount calipers.

TL-S calipers rear mount

Now u can see the differences in the 2

^Thanks, I guess I did not realize or ever look closely enough. So it sounds like the TL-S are more of a direct swap...the calipers bolt onto our hub so you just need the calipers, s2000 front rotors, and Infiniti G35 pads? And just use the stock 6GA bolts? I wonder why people started flocking to the RL setup which needs a custom bracket...maybe they are more readily available or something, or cheaper.

What model years do you grab the s2k rotors and G35 pads from? I am interested in this since I cannot find suitable rotor replacements for my Rotora BBK.

That's it? Wow if I had known that's all I would've done this instead of the RL BBK. It seems a lot cheaper...... oh well lol and I don't think anyone has attempted this setup on a 6GA yet. Probably why everyone does the RL they probably never heard of this

I think the RL calipers came out first so people got a jump on using them, they also look smaller IMO allowing for more wheel options. Bad thing about the TL calipers is the bolts seizing and stripping out. These calipers (TL-S) are huge, it kind of worries me. :banghead: Might need like a 25mm spacer but that's gonna push my rims out quite a bit, I am so determined to make these work with my wheels. Camber kit! anyone know of a good one for the front? I found an Ingalls one on CL guy wants 150, I haven't look into them yet. Any input would be cool. It just came to my mind that TL I got these from has the best OEM front sway bar, I should go back and haul it out..

I don't know the year of rotors, I have to check rock auto to cross reference numbers. I think its 300mm you need
For the pads I don't know why G35 maybe the thickness of the pad or price also going to check pad part numbers between the vehicles, I'm sure the calipers are the same except for the mounts.
