am having a custom box made for my 98 sedan, but wanted to see what is out there.

primarily i want to retain as much room in the trunk as possible while be able to use the folded down rear seat once in a while... i know that will limit the size of the box... maybe a box on one side for the sub and the opposite side of the trunk for the amp.

thanks for posting any photos you may have or for your comments.

do you care about your spare tire? if not, that's another option.

yes, would like to keep the spare tire.

also - would a single 8 inch or 10 inch sub be sufficient? am looking for more bass than what the 6x9s are putting out, but not too much.

this was a picture of it in my 5th gen but i have it in my 6th right now behind the driver seat. if you have a sedan it will fit in this spot just fine. built it myself. leaves room for passengers still and keeps trunk space free.

-EDIT- if you couldn't tell... it's a 10" alpine type E powered by a Kenwood 600w monochannel amp. more than sufficient sound and no rattles since it's in the cab. easily adjustable to not be overwhelming bass for such close quarters.

where
my friend just had a 10" Alpine Type R in a factory ported box with an MRP-M500 installed (by yours truly) and it hits pretty damn good for a single 10". I used to have 2 12" Type R's and that was insanely loud. But a single 10" with the amp mounted to the top of the box, or screwed into the back of one of the seats would be fine, and leave lots of trunk room if you mount the box to one side of the trunk, with the sub facing towards the back of the car, and the box pushed right up against the back seat.
