Before I go further, what does NJ emission test do? Do they test OBD2 for emissions?

And you could easily add the few wires for VTEC. And the heads are the same. Just different valve cover. Its other things within the exhaust and intake manifold that are different.

You can also do an H23 head and go dual cam

NJ is brutal. Your car can come in without brakes, no driving lights, a cracked windshield, and a flat tire. But as long as your gas cap passes and tail pipe emission pass it is road worthy.

Hey dude, I am from NJ myself and other members like Sketch etc... I had done some minor brake upgrade like swapping my rear drums for disc brakes. Installing stainless steel brake line, professional grade pads and Chinese rice rotors. I have test it from a sudden stop at 90MPH and the car stop perfectly smooth and sharp without getting out of control. In wet weather it stop just the same as dry conditions.
From start to finish:

Cool, I look forward to doing the same, well done. I am going to try a legit test from 60mph. Unfortunately it may take long to start do to the fact I was hit in the rear end (hold your laughter) on my 7th gen. Not bad accident but I will have to fix before selling and getting the cg on the road.
