This is the 15led panels in the map AND dome or just map?

That multi-board dome light pictured above is sick! Im gonna try to cram a small, 8-led board in the doors. Maybe a 15 if itll fit. Now that i know the 15s will fit in the map, i can do that. :lawl:

Those pics are with the dome light turned OFF, and with both map lights turned ON with the 15 (5050 smd) leds in each map light.
Also the trunk is the same 15 led board.

I just bought these for my mom's 7thgen map lights. lol

I'm not sure if I want to upgrade my dome light yet, i already have a festoon bulb with 4 leds on it, and it's bright enough. I kinda like my dome light just being there to provide a source of light to know what you're looking at when you get in, not to see every spec of dirt in the carpet... that's what my map lights are for. :lawl:

On a side note, has anyone seen these? I think it's awesome how they're specifically made for the map light. I think it's an 8thgen map light, i'm not 100% sure though.

All done! One in the dome, one in the trunk. A tiny bit brighter and more red than they appear in the photos. But here's the idea:

I like it in the trunk. Not a fan of it in the dome light, though. and don't open your door driving next to a cop on the street, :lawl:

as far as the custom map light inserts, i think it would be bad *** to fit the max amount of 5050 smd led chips as possible. then i would have the brightest possible for my car lol

It's possible to make some yourself, just would take a lot of soldering, glueing, and time. lol
just go get some pc board like I used to make my a/t gear selector light a while back.

Couldn't you put a couple of panels inside the box? That'd be pretty dope

red inside the port that pulsed with the bass would be pretty sick!!

edit: just found this video

dang dude i know i could do it and it would turn out great, but dam that would take a long time haha. i was thinking about maybe just trying to put led boards in my map light. did you use basic LED's for your lights??

Not the prettiest thing since it was my first custom project like that, but it did it's job for well over 6 months until my car was totaled, then I sold it to a member on here. haha
It took about 3 hours to make, not too bad. If i ever did it again (which i won't because I have a 5 speed now :jae: ) I'd use one big resistor and wire them in series instead of one resistor for each led in parallel. Made it bulky.

do you have a DIY thread for this??

also does the relation of the shifter change the color or brightness of the led's. or are they always on?

I followed a diy from an acura forum, but i lost the link. It's pretty self explanatory though, take apart your shifter gate and take that piece out. use it to see where you need to place your leds in relation to the PRND321 letters. then just put it all together and cut/glue the pc board in place. you CAN just install the leds into the bottom of the shifter gate, that might work better. I just cut the whole bottom out and glued the pc board so I could put it where I wanted.

You have to make a new PRND321 piece though, because of the filters behind the oem one. Notice how mine says "3" instead of "D3." lol
