I just got a 01 accord with the F23A4 ran like crap. (30y/o and my 1st Honda) Definitely had a misfire. Figured out it was the #3 cylinder and seemed like a valve problem so.... off with the head (also my 1st time going into an engine)

Well yep... that's the problem alright

I've got the full gasket, head bolts, valves set coming now so my question is, should I lap new valves? I've seen yes, no, never, always.... wtf lol

Thanks!

I lap new valves in the shop. Also id recommend replacing that timing belt. Props for the zip tie engineering though. Lol

Lol thanks. Also the 1st one not calling me crazy/stupid for wanting to just do it myself.

I forgot that was there until after I posted. Definitely thought I was going to get flamed for that. We'll see... it seems good condition and I've yet to go 1 mile in this car. I will have $400 into it before I even get to so yeah. We'll see what warmer weather brings.
