on the third step the light comes on even if i take out the scs

How did you use the paper clip? I tried with just a wire and now my check engine light came on??????

u just bend the paper clip into a V shape, and do it like how you did it with your wire

when i did mines, it reset then came back on? why did this happen?

it means something is really wrong. you'll need to have it checked out.

Also make sure that your timing with the reset was accurate, I had to re-do mine probably more then a dozen times because I had problems getting both ends of the paperclip in the connector at the same time which is why it took me so long to reset it.

I just used two speaker wires.
That way you can have them as long as you want.
Mine were a good length that I was sitting in the seat while I was resetting it
