Hey guys,

I just recently got my fenders rolled. The paint cracked a little bit, so I'm going to a body shop tomorrow to get it fixed. My question is that since the fenders are rolled, debris, salt, water, will sit in the groove. Is there any kind of silicone you recommend that I should use to seal the lip?

Thanks

ive never thought about that.. how debris could riot the fender out from the inside..

but seeing how debris sits on there anyway before it was rolled... i doubt you will have any problems later down the road

Once they are rolled though debris/dirt can now sit for longer as there is more of a groove created.

Adam, i'd say put on some gloves, grab a sponge with some water/soap and clean the area inside thoroughly to the point where there is no dirt there anymore. After its all clean let it dry/or use a heatgun and paint the area with some rust converter followed by black rust paint. Once everything is all dry you can use black all weather silicone to fill up the crease. HD has some that are dry and ready to be used in 1HR.

I did the above to my inside fenders on the rear 2 years ago after seeing some rust form on the lip. Whether it worked or not, the rust has not developed much/if at all since back then.

Thanks Levin. I already cleaned it befor they got rolled but I guess since its been raining and such for the past few days, I'll wash it again, heat it up, then use that rubberized undercoating stuff to cover it up. Any recommendations as to which all weather silicone to use?

Maybe my body shop can take care of it after they fix the cracks.

I was thinking about using one of these actually:

Oh ok....yeah, a little further than I would want to travel.

Price was reasonable, though?
