Retrofit questions....

Ive been looking around and before i start mine ive been trying to decide if i want to keep my mini gatlin shrouds or switch to e46 shrouds ... i can order the e46 shrouds for about 35 including the rings. I looked through the retrofit thread but could see anything as most pics wouldn't load. Also any mounting tips would be appreciated.

how are you installing them? the way they are made to be? that almost touches the lens?

I would stay away from jb-weld or any sort of cement to hold the shroud in place. I used tiny screws to hold my shrouds in place and I can guarantee they'll never shake loose or pop out. I think i used 3-4 tiny screws per side. I drilled a tiny hole with my dremel and set the shroud in place tightly, then drilled a hole thru shroud. The hole is slightly smaller then the screw of course. Once the screws are in place it seems set for life (if done correctly). I'll see if i can find a pic. Also if you do it right and plan out the locations of the screws, they are not noticeable even if you try.

Good luck with the retro, it will be a fun little project.

That was the plan. As of now i have the projectors ballasts bulbs and everything else. I want to yellow my high beam and blackhouse my headlights. I am also contemplating weather or not to black out the low beam bucket. Is there any cutting required when using the e46 shrouds? I am ok with modifications just want to kinda have an idea.

Eg headlights were my first retros and the eks my second...i like the shrouds in the eg headlights but they were too small in the eks thats what got me thinking about changing shrouds for this retro

This was my first retro fit with e46 shrouds I did



Then I went ahead and did a quad retro fit with the same projectors and e46 shrouds as you have. Just work on the dremel and don't rush it
