The Orange Skittle
Well I am not sure if some of you have even heard about this on the national news since it received little to no attention. But over the weekend Nashville received 28% of it's yearly average of rain in less than 48 hours. They said it was our 500-1000 year rain or whatever they call it. The Cumberland River located near downtown is usually around 20 feet, and rose to 50 feet from the flooding. Since the majority of the areas flooding were not in flood zones, many homes did not have flood insurance.
Skyscrapers flooded, the Titans football stadium flooded, and 1000s of homes were under water, and it has taken 20 lives so far. It will be months upon months before the city can fully repair the damages. I think one reason we have not received national attention is because the city has united together. There has been no looting, no other crimes, and no corruption...
Now for my pictures...The first few are of the high school I used to attend.
Sunday around 2pm
Monday around 2pm...as you can see the water rose drastically in 24 hours. The whole 1st floor had around 4-5 feet of water in it.
This is the parking lot, the school is to the right
Here is a video from a fried of the damage from a boat. Go to about min 5 for the school video

Two separate entrances to our greenway system.
Homes about 1 mile from my house
Local river that is usually about 10 feet deep and maybe 20 yards wide. Now it is probably a square mile
Went around town on our bikes during lunch break...This is a very busy 4 lane road, now under water
Local Target and Kohls parking lot under water
