Re: Enne's 1989 Honda Prelude Si 2.0 4WS

Closest O'Reilly's to me is in CT. I'm in PA Shop couldn't get it from their suppliers so I've ordered one from RockAuto. $60 shipped with a new 1 3/4" clamp.

Re: Enne's 1989 Honda Prelude Si 2.0 4WS

I met another 3rd gen owner today! His was a 1990 Prelude Si ALB 2.1 L, manual transmission. We met up after cars and coffee and took these photos.

So many tiny differences between the two model years. It's crazy.

Re: Enne's 1989 Honda Prelude Si 2.0 4WS

I got the new muffler on. Whew, so much better. Couldn't stand not being able to hear myself think with all the noise coming from the exhaust. He had to cut parts off to get the muffler free, it was very rusty under there. They also crushed the exhaust pipe a bit when they put this clamp on so I had to run out and buy an exhaust pipe expander too.

I put a new half size front plate on as well!

Re: Enne's 1989 Honda Prelude Si 2.0 4WS

This is the kind of first car I'd love to get my kids, old school Honda's are simple, cheap, and reliable. And it would make them appreciate a newer car when they finally get one. But newer cars and trucks these days have gotten so big I think I would have concerns about their safety. Of course the other problem would be finding an old Honda that hasn't been beaten to death haha.

Cool that you met a fellow owner at Cars & Coffee, always a fun experience talking/hanging with people who drive the same car as you.

One this old is hard to find parts for haha, also it doesn't have airbags. 6th gens on the other hand, that's a great starter car for a kid. It was my first car that I ever owned and it's what really got me into cars. Easy to work on, safe and reliable.

Yup, my CG is my first car, such an open engine bay (4cyl) and fairly simple, it's definitely a great starter car and I've learned a lot from my couple of years driving it
