I press hard on the brake and then shift from P to Reverse. It is very hard. How can I make it smoother?
Why is it so hard to shift from P to Reverse in automatic?

Hope it's not happening when you're parked on a up/downhill without the use of an ebrake.
Not saying that you're not, but using an ebrake on a 6gen AT is a must. Don't want some 3000 lbs whole weight sitting on a parking shift when it's parked, especially on a hill.

Do your brake lights come on when you press the brake softly? It could be the brake switch not doing its job to unlock the shift interlock. Also, there was a recall at one point for the shift interlock on the automatics. Has yours been serviced for that?
