I was on my way to a birthday dinner with my family tonite and was in my car driving in front of my father. He called me and asked me why i wasnt braking when i came to a stop and i didnt know what he was talking about. He was saying that the only lights that were on were the dimmer filaments on my tail lights. My urgent help is needed because I need to know why the brighter filament and 3rd brake lights are not engaging when i press on my brake pedal? Is it as simple as a fuse? Or is it a faulty sensor? Help Please!!! Thanks.

I think near the brake pedal theres a brake sensor bolt or something you can tighten.. Had a similar issue in a friend's escort

if it's a fuse then go check it? why would you ask if it's a fuse if you can go to your car, check the fuse and if it's good then it's not the fuse..

my **** was about to fail inspection because of this... theres a switch that went bad, my friend replaced it... i want to say its by the brake pedal. in the summer i used to have a hard time getting my shifter out of park while i hit the brake, this is related too.... dont know if you ever had that problem

i was just under there checking it out and found the sensor with a cable attached to the pedal...nothing was unplugged or anything. But then i was thinking that it cant be a sensor because if it was i wouldn't be able to put it in drive, correct me if i am wrong.

its not a stop light fuse because your entire tail lamp would be out, not just the brake filament...

id try the sensor 1st..
