Green beans 2002 sedan special addition

Hey everyone been lurking for a while just haven't posted yet. Well here she is...

Bone stock 02 sedan. Picked it up from a coworker's mom for 500. Have had it for almost a year and just clicked over 100k. So she is fairly new.

The plan is to make this into our camping vehicle. I grew up with subarus so having a sedan and not a wagon is new to me. With a baby planned for the near future I needed a way to be able to haul our camping gear and dogs. With my wifes blessing she agreed a trailer is the only way. Im not into ugly uhaul looking trailers so I did some research and came across these half car trailers. It should be perfect for hauling the dogs as well as the canpbox and other gear.

Just picked up the back half of an 99 sedan for 200. Suspension interior and all.

This will be a work in progress hoping by spring she will be ready to roll/haul!

This is good, this idea. Welcome to the site, that $500 for a 6GA with under 100k is a steal.

Thanks. Got pretty lucky. Was hoping for a manual but those are pretty rare around here

Re: Green beans 2002 sedan special addition

Just be sure that the timing belt has been done within the last 7yrs as the frequency for that is 100k miles OR 7yrs, whichever is first. It's about a $150 job in parts if you do it yourself, or in the $700 range if you take it in somewhere.

It's a great find regardless!

Thanks I got pretty lucky. Had a chance to pick up a 2 door 6 cylinder from the sis in law for dirt cheap but the wife put a squash on that. Really only wanted it for the 5 bolt conversion but meh she calls the shots so nothing I can do. Anyways timing belt and new bushings all around is the plan come October when the car goes away and the bike comes out for winter

Gonna convert the half to have the same 01-02 trunk/tail lights as the sedan?

Nice find and and cool project.

With having just 100k keep up with that transmission fluid and maybe it will last

That's the plan over the winter. Spoiler as well as I personally like the look of them.

Trailer as an appointment at the welding shop next week to get the opening braced. Then I can make the final cuts and bring it back for the tongue to be welded on.

Yeah I have heard how bad these autos are. If I can get one more summer out of it I'll be more than happy. But once it goes were switching to a mt.

Re: Green beans 2002 sedan special addition

All loaded up. She has a date with the welders tomorrow to figure out the best way to frame this up and then put the tongue on. I'm really hoping we can figure out a way to brace the opening without just doing a big cross brace over the whole thing. My plan is to have a window on the upper half so I can see what the dogs are up too. As well as them being able to see us to keep the freakout to a minimum

Also menards straps suck. Broke one bringing this home just broke another loading
