VERY bright interior dome light DIY

Nice write up OP, I've been meaning to upgrade my interior LEDs for awhile. This makes me want to do it more...

when i say "get" i mean go to my friends and pick it up because its over there lol

Do it, I had a blast doing all mine. Right now I have 20 led bulbs in my map and doors. The dual boards in the dome and a led strip on my plate. It's all eally bright and look good

Doing this with similar panels, only in red

It'll be the first LED thing for my car. I'll eventually probably do the rest including footwells, of course with the footwells on a switch.

yeah dude np, and make sure to upload pics!! i was thinking about the footwells soon... hmmm i might tap into the dome light circuit and get the dimming feature

ive done a whole bunch of trial and error and i figured out the biggest/brightest bulbs to swap in.

for the doors and map light i used t10 20 smd led bulbs (if you decide to buy on ebay, keep the price per bulb close to one dollar. do not pay more than 2 bucks per 20led bulb.) (6 total in my car, 4 for the doors and two up top in the map light)

for the dome i used two of those led boards and spliced them together.

as for the plate i used a 5050 smd led strip. you cut at the line to determine what length of led strip you want to use. i used the spare t10 connector that come with the led board when i did my dome light. i drilled a small hole in the plastic license plate plastic cover to run the connector out. i soldered the extra male connector that i cut from the second led board onto the led strip wire leads so it could connect into the t10 i connected and ran out of the plastic cover. i used a led strip that was 48cm long (30 5050 smd led's)
