My alternator died recently so I got a new one, but i'm having trouble getting the old one out because the nut on the ground wire will not turn without the ground wire twisting around with it. Any tips on how to get it off would be greatly appreciated..

what's preventing you from holding the wire still while you loosen the nut?

The nut and the wire seem to be fused together. I've tried holding the wire still, but then nothing will move.

try spraying it with some PB blaster? alternatively just cut the ground and crimp on a new terminal
could be a good excuse to do a big 3 upgrade
