DEI products (viper, python, etc) are good but overpriced. i believe autopage is supposed to be decent. i plan on trying out a scytek alarm. i think if you can find shops around you that install alarms (not bestbuy) you should go there and ask them what they liked and have used/installed.

you should search this forum more or even some member's rides. i think there have been threads about different alarms already

DEI stuff isn't too bad. I like my Clifford Matrix RSX 12.5 a lot and DEI makes the majority of add-on sensors anyways.

Don't we have an alarm review thread?

i wouldnt get anything installed at bestbuy... look for a small electronics shop around your area they would most likely do a better job than bestbuy, that goes true for the 3 bestbuys around me have seen some horrible installs...amp power cables running right over the valve cover, spaghetti mess under the dash for alarms....its goes on...

Authorized Dealer viper 5901

I would only put a DEI alarm system in my car. I've got a Clifford alarm that was installed 11 years ago. No problems at all. I've only had to change the battery twice, and ended up buying a new case for the remote because the fake carbon fiber was peeling.

If you're in OC, you should check out Sound Specialist in Garden Grove. They're a small store, but they've been around for 20+ years and hooked me up with an alarm. BTW, they're authorized DEI dealer for Viper and Clifford.
