I have a 2000 accord which I just changed oil on and the oil plug appears to be leaking right around the gasket/washer. I heard that the washer material many times leaks-this is an aluminum washer-is that true?-the torque is correct it is not dripping just seeping out.

Thanks in advance for any info

Maybe tighten it down some more. Heck my truck didn't have a drain plug washer for years and never leaked any

next time you drain it, get a new copper washer, brake clean the seat of the pan and the drain plug bolt to insure they are clean , and tighten it down. dont be afraid to tighten it, alot of people install drain plugs way too loose, i reef on em and never have stripped one in my whole career so far. so dont be afraid. just dont stick a breaker bar on it. or use a long *** ratchet
