I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area (still new) I have a 2001 accord coupe ex 4 cylinder, it had one owner it only has 93,000 miles on it. Because I am not the only owner, is there any way of checking is the timing belt was replaced before? He seemed to do all the maintenance at the right times but I never see anything specific about the timing belt..It's a pretty costly job and I would hate to spend all that money if i don't have too..Honda recommends 70k...Its way over that..I was going to wait until 100,000....

Also, when did you first change your timing belt?

Thanx ;)

I believe 105,000 is the recommended. Did the previous owner supply paperwork that it has been done? I had mine changed out at twice one at 79,000 when I got it used and just recently at 180,000. If you decide to do the timing belt, may want to look at replacing the water pump at the same time.

I believe the interval is 105k as well. I did mine at 108k or so.

Did you get any paperwork/maintenance records with the car?

No the car was sold to me at a used car lot..I just pulled the carfax report. It shows maintenance but no details..yeah I was going to wait until about 100,000 anyway. Thanx all!

like people have said, just wait for 105k+ miles then go get it done. i highly doubt the previous owner already did it
