What's up guys! So most of you know I was swaping a j35 to my I4 chassis. It required too much work and time... I couldn't do it because of school. So now I'm. Doing something easier , a G23 :) if anyone has any input or opinions feel free to tell me your thoughts!

So far I have a h22 head that I bought for $100
Getting k20 pistons for $80

Still puting together what all I need to produce 250 to 300whp N/A. That is my goal.

There will be more to come soon! Thanks

Doing the same soon :D only much slower haha still a toss up between FI and NA.
If I were you I would bore the block to 87mm and use k24 pistons.
http://www.zealautowerks.com/hfseries.html this will definitely help for decisions.
This ⇩ is a good setup, IMO.

You might as well keep the G23 for boosting rather than go for a h23 later. H-series blocks are not good for boost. I'd much rather have the G23 because you can use forged pistons on the f23 block since the cylinders are cast iron.

Yeah I would boost the g23 if anything. Strong stock iron sleeved blocks in a long 97mm stroker with a good flowing DOHC head. With all f23 internals you're hitting just below 9:1 so you can boost to your hearts content at little cost to build, relatively speaking.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'm just a little nervous about the g23. People around here say the don't last long and it gets hot in places since the head isn't made for the block. Idk. Just freaky lol

They bolt up perfect, as the parts are, for the most part, interchangeable. As for the heat, I haven't heard anything about that, and I never looked into longevity. Although if you want it to be reliable and last long, you might as well get new OEM parts to go with the aftermarket internals. In that case. Its like a brand new motor.

Also suggested this, and maybe the H23 is not good for boost, but I have seen plenty of H22's that handle boost just fine.

True. They would both do fine just the f23 is better suited for boost when stock.
