Looks good so far!

I have a j32a2 engine an 05 tl 6 speed tranny

I want to do the j35 swap

I have access to a j35a3 (01-02 mdx)

I've read from the list that it'll work, but someone said it's AWD and
the transmission won't bolt up?!? :33:

Can anybody verify this?

No one has an AWD 6th Gen.

yes, you could use the J35 from the MDX, but you would need the tranny from an Oddy/Pilot.

Why would you want the J35 if you already have the J32 and 6spd?

Jakub, not trying to thread jack.

No worries, Derek.

I was a little confused by 98V6Accords post ...

It seems that he has the CL Type S engine and a TL tranny AND he has access to a J35A3. I think he's trying to figure out if he should stick to the simpler J32A2 swap or to go with the J35A3. Just my understanding of it ???

Yeah, may be that he is trying to decide because of the AWD, but that won't be an option.

Yea sorry jakub for derailing thread for a bit.

My goal was to have a hybrid.

J35 block(cl-s pistons)/j32 heads/j37 IM -
6 spd conversion

Ive read that the mdx is the best way to go. Steel forged parts...

Now I'm seeing that you can't bolt it up to the 6 spd tranny.

Is there anyway to make the j35a3 01-02 mdx block work?

Can I swap the internals into the j32 block from the j35?

Sorry for confusing everyone and thanks for the responses...really appreciate it.

Here are some resources that should help you out ...

The second one details almost exactly the project you wish to tackle. The guy started the project 12 months ago ... it's still ongoing ...

UPDATE #1

So, I tried ordering my XSPower headers from both of these websites

http://xs-power.com/
http://www.ssautochrome.com/

Both of them would accept payment and reply a few days later indicating in very bad English grammar that they are out of stock.

Did a little bit more digging and found some very disturbing info

Apparently, both of these companies, which curiously have the same mailing address and contact info, have been shipping EBay knock off headers WITHOUT the 6 speed bend, and only a 2" collector pipe.

http://www.bbb.org/raleigh-durham/b...uto-chrome-in-creedmoor-nc-3001613/complaints

Luckily for me, they BOTH returned the full amount they charged, but I was still without a pair of MT compatible headers as Comptech also discontinued their headers :(

I was going to just do the swap with the stock exhaust manifold and wait to see a pair popup online used, when I found and bought a pair of USED XS Power Headers off EBay with the 6 SPEED bend and a FLOWMASTER 2.5" CAT already welded onto the collector with 2 02 sensors attached :)

If I finish work early tomorrow, will be dropping car off at the shop, headers due to arrive early next week.

I am still collecting parts for my swap, but I ran into a similar dilemma since I have the non-six speed Comptech headers. I believe that using aftermarket Accord motor mounts (innovative 2nd gen) will allow the use of my current headers. Can anyone verify this?

I am not sure, but somebody on the Acurazine forum got their AT Comptech headers to fit a 6MT/J32A2 by grinding away the stock Acura rear engine mount and relocating the O2 sensor.

Thanks for that link! In my notes, I have some about using the J30 rear motor bracket with the Innovative mounts, but cannot seem to locate the exact thread that the information came from.
