Hello everyone, thanks for reading and giving any input. I am always on and off the site, I don't post very often, but here is my build. I have a 2001 ex with 182xxx miles. The motor and auto transmission have been running very strong. I purchased the car with 124xxx and have had very minimal issues. Over the past couple years and monthes I have been purchasing parts and doing some reading between 6thgen and v6p. I have always wanted to do the 6MT swap and came across parts without having to reach out very far. I purchased an 03 Oddysey motor for a reasonable price. Then came across a CL-S 6MT. Which I also got the 03 CL-S engine harness, ECU computer with a piggyback on it, and the interior firewall/dash harness with the transmission. The rest of the parts I bought new from Acura and Honda Majestic.

Pictures will be posted at some point when I have everything sorted out.

Here is my list of parts that I have bought for the swap.

Acquired Parts
Need to Purchase Parts

Engine: 2003 Honda Oddysey J35A4 with 112xxx miles with engine harness
missing alternator, power steering, and computer.

Transmission: From 2003 Acura CL-S 82xxx miles.

2003 CL-S engine harness, interior firewall/dash harness, ECU with some standalone programmer

Clutch pedal, brake/gas pedal assemblies got from junk yard

This list I copied from one of the swap guide threads and went through piece by piece.

Questions that I have:

Do I still need Rich's harness even though I have CL-S harnesses and computer?

Can I use stock motor mounts? I am most likely going to buy Innovative 60a kit.

What would be the best programmer? And would I have to program my key to the CL-S ECU with it?

Thank you for reading and all the help to everyone of these forums.

I just want to confirm a couple of things, before I start removing my motor, and make sure I understand things correctly.

I have the j35a4 motor with the auto odyssey harness on it. I purchased a cl-s 6mt engine harness that I was hoping to swap on to the motor. I also have the cl-s 6mt ecu, transmission, and complete car harness.

Would this work? I'm trying to stay way from having to do a bunch of wiring. I just need confirmation that things will work. And that I am headed in the right direction.

Thanks for the help.

So this is my plan for the swap. Since I have an Odyssey motor with harness, Cl-S ecu and all the engine and car harnesses, and cl-s 6MT. I am planning to combine the odyssey harness and cl-s harness into one. Use the sensors that are needed on the motor and the transmission and use the Cl-s ECU. Now to get my hands on some wiring diagrams of the two vehicles.

No.
Richie's module/harness is for when you use an automatic ECU with a Manual tranny.

Yes, you could use the OEM motor mounts.

I think Excellerateperformance.com solid motor mounts may be a better design than Innovatives. Personally, I'm using poly filled OEM mounts.

Key programmer? don't know.

Yes, you will need to re-program your "Honda" key to the "Acura" ECU.

you do have 2 options. Reprogram the key to the ECU or just go without an immobilizer chip. However, that 2nd option will throw a CEL because the ECU knows it's not there.

Thanks for the responses WHEELMAN. I will see what I can figure out on the immobilizer.

After going through my boxes of parts I had discovered that I did not have an engine harness. So I ordered a 03 manual Cl-s engine harness. Thinking that it would make my swap easier. The ECU that I purchased at the same time as the manual transmission and car harnesses, turned out to be for an automatic motor. I regret not purchasing the motor from the guy. But I did not have space for another motor. I am not even sure is the motor was auto or manual, at this point, considering the mixture of parts that I received from the guy. Enough about that mistake...on to my dilemma. I am honestly not sure what I should be using for a harness at this point. The j35a4 odyssey motor's sensors are in different locations compared to the j32a2 manual motor. My initial plan was to mate the two engine harnesses. Which is still not out of the question, if needed. Another thing I could attempt is re-pinning the odyssey engine harness to match up to the ECU that I use. I have access to AllData for the 03 odyssey, 03 cl-s, and 01 accord. I was trying to stay away from using Richie's module/harness, assuming they are hard to come by these days. But it sounds like it might be easier trying to find one. Should I try getting a manual cl-s ECU and use the j32 engine harness on the j35a4 motor? I need some insight from you guys.
I came across this thread on v6p http://www.v6performance.net/forums/6g-honda-accord-performance-discussion/9829-3-5-conversion.html and TAG is using the stock odyssey harness with no issues, but not sure what he is running for a computer.

Has anybody converted an auto motor to a manual motor? is it required?
