Hi my 6THGEN friends and family! I wanted to share my excitement, and also part of the reason the Accord is still garaged. It's been a journey trying to find the right Skyline, and it turned out for the better, the way it always does:

Part I: The Beginning

There was an unexpected change in events with the original Skyline, and I used my better judgement to steer away from it even though I wanted it so bad:

The bottom line was that it did not have any importation paperwork, and it was imported onto US soil before the 25-year-law.. This meant that no matter what, it would always remain questionable on a federal level because of this. The guy didn't even have the title in his own name, and there was aging body damage to the car that I would not have expected for the $35,000 he was asking. I won't mention the name of his establishment, however PM me if you would like to know who to stay away from in the dirty south when it comes to these gems.

The molded sidemarkers are not native to the R32, looking up the part number they are actually Stanley's from a CD5 Accord :hihi::

The widebody kit which was historically installed, was fiberglass, just as were the front fenders. With time, you can see the damage as the work is coming apart at the seams, literally:

The good news is that I got another GTR instead of that prior one, and this time it has the OEM projectors which I love. This one is a 1991 (federally legal) virgin example with 87,000mi, zero rust (huge plus!) and I can retain my peace of mind with it as well as build it up the way I want to. It was also half the price I was going to pay for the other one, which leaves me with a hefty chunk for modification and paint :waytogo:.

With this new opportunity, I am leaning on painting it a Dark Emerald Pearl like the Accord, and installing select JDM goodies for a stunning combination of green, black, gold, and carbon fiber. Here's my idea of the color:

If you guys have any thoughts about color, now would be the time to share, nothing is set in stone yet. The paint will be glass-off for optimal result, and will include every piece and area where old paint could be visible. With the engine bay, I am painting to outline the immediately visible areas like strut towers and radiator support (maybe firewall) to match the car, however the depths of the bay will remain stock flat black.

My living room is a mini-stock yard:

So far I've received:

- Fitted car cover
- Disposable foot covers
- Low-profile rear windshield lip spoiler, hand-made carbon fiber twill weave.
- N1 bumper vents, hand-made carbon fiber twill weave.
- Intercooler bezel, hand-made carbon fiber twill weave.
- HKS/Impul FRP grille from Australia, CarMate is the only manufacturer who I found that actually still makes it. This is to achieve the same front fascia as the R32 I didn't get.
- Hood bonnet FRP to match up to the grille with hood closed, same as the one on the R32 I didn't get.
- LED tail lights, same as on the R32 I didn't get.
- OEM low-profile window visors, same as the ones on the R32 I didn't get.
- OEM front GTR emblem, same as on the R32 I didn't get.
- OEM rear GTR badge
- OEM rear NISMO badge
- OEM front sideskirt spats to accentuate rear curves.
- TBO rear bumper spats to complete accentuation of rear curves.

I'll post pictures of the pieces when they are lined up before getting fitted and painted. The R34 wheels are not mine, so it's getting the stock R32 ones until I can pick up a nice set of deep-dish HRE's with gold bolts. Naturally, it's getting new GT shield emblems on both sides as well.

An examination of the car reveals soft hoses with no cracking or leaking, however I have to fix the ABS module due to a leaking seal or eliminate it altogether. The gas line leaks somewhere, great chance to beef up the fuel system right from the get-go. The dash has the infamous bubble in it, so it's getting swapped out with a good one as soon as this next container from Japan clears customs in port. It's such an amazing design, because these RB's have ITB's as part of the throttle system, before the flow enters the firing chambers!

Plenty of 'horses' (Ferarri, Porsche, Maserati) painted by his own hands within the professional's stable, I have a feeling that he is probably going to do a good job :):

If you ever go out of town, I'd be happy to babysit her for you.

Seriously, though, keep the updates coming. That thing is perfect. Strange seeing those wheels on something other than a 240.

Thank you guys!! The wheels aren't on a 240, but it's still a Nissan sibling! The other thing I thought of doing is mirror-plating the underside of the hood for a killer effect with it raised open, as well as a controller for courtesy flood-lighting underneath along the sides.
