Will 225/55/17's fit a 99 sedan

Kinda, yea. 235 is way too wide for a 7" wide rim. You could use it, but it would look like crap.

Sell those tires for what you can and put that money toward some new ones of the correct size.

Even the 225's are too wide.

215's would be your best bet.

I'm running 225/40 on my HFP's (7" wide). Sidewall is flush with the rim, absolutely no stretch. Definitely go with 215's, your wheels will look much nicer when your tires have a slight stretch to them.

225/45/17 is the ideal size if you want a spot on diameter that matches that of the stock specs.

215/45/17 is the more reasonable choice in my oppinion if you want the widest tire you can, without it looking funky.

i had 225 on my old rims that was 7 in wide loved tha way they look more than my streatched 225s on my 9 in wide rims now, depends on ur look u want
if u look at my members ride thread they show my 17s,

corrct 225 is exact hieght to keep ur odom correct

i have 225 50 17. hella chunky lookin but i actually like it. the front will be fine but your worries will be in the rear. i had to roll out the rear quarter panels and cut a lil bit of the rear bumper. with that ive had no problems
