What part of the car hit the ground when the jack failed? Maybe something in the undercarriage was damaged.

It hit the maetal under the side skirt and scratched up my side skirt pretty bad

Ah ok. Bummer, hope you can get it fixed up.
Yeah I had it fail on me too. When I first lowered my car. It is just too much weight by the time you get to installing the last coilover.
