Bad Alt?

Driving home from Long Beach last night on the 605 my car started acting up.
1st the speedo stopped working, i noticed my lights were kinda dim too
then my tac stopped working.... ABS light comes on....
which was great since it was 12:30 AM and raining....
Then every other electrical thing slowly started to go until the car died.
Had to get a tow at 1 AM
hopefully just the alternator. Checked all my grounds and battery is good

could it be anything else?

Never heard the alt whine or get louder leading up to this?

I would hear a spooling/whining sound occasionally but could never figure out where it was coming from. I assumed it was just a leak in my headers. But as i suspected the alternator was bad. Everything else checked out fine. I hate ****ing with electrical stuff lol. Hopefully that was the source of the sound I was hearing too

Ended up having a short too
maybe due to the bad alt or vice versa

Sounds like the alt had a short then got toasted, I'd replace it with a high output one, that way all the lights and electrical stay nice and bright, even under full load (all electrical options turned on).
