Please keep all posting that is not a review out of this thread.

Want to tell everyone you get hosed by an eBay seller that sold you some crappy halo projectors?? Or maybe you want to brag about your retrofit setup!! This thread is for you!!

Lighting is considered:
Projectors (ebay, TYC)
HID Kits
Retrofit Components (Ballasts, Projectors, etc)
Halogen Bulbs
Side Markers
Tail Lights
LED's

Format will be the same as the others:

Brand & model: 30-LED Switchback Turn Signals (SMT LED'S)
Price paid and from where: $52.00 from www.autolumination.com
Pros: BRIGHT, look great IMO
Cons: Yes, expensive for turn signal bulbs :bash:
Final verdict: Great if you want WHITE led parking lights, but wanna keep the AMBER turn signals. You need to get a load resistor for each side unless you want hyperblinking lights.

I'll post up some pics or a vid when I get them.

Brand & model: VVME 6000k HID Kit (ebay seller for vvme.net)

Price paid and from where: $75 shipped

Pros: Easy install. Pretty decent for the price.

Cons: Output was not as great as other brand HID kits I've seen.

Final verdict: I would rather tell you to save up and get another HID kit. But this hid kit will definitely satisfy to some extent.

Brand & model: Retrofit Package: S2000 Projectors, Toyota Denso Slim Ballasts, Phillips 4300k d2s bulbs, E46 chrome shrouds, Custom made wiring harness made by Dinzdale40 on this forum.

Price paid and from where: $500+ spent a lotta money on this later on as well

Pros: S2000 Projectors are great and are considered the best single xenon projector out there. The toyota densos are very simple to work with. Can use the oem denso connectors or use crimp-on connections. The bulbs are just bulbs, pretty good. And the shrouds are very clean and oem-like. The wiring harness makes everything plug n play so it's definitely recommended over splicing into the oem 9006 harnesses.

Cons: Install was a real bitch. Since I did it myself it was. Labor runs about $300+ if you don't want to do it yourself. The densos can easily get water in them from the side holes. Had to replace mine. No problems with the rest of the stuff.

Final verdict: Once you get a taste of a retrofit, you can't go back. Or at least it's very hard to go back. But the output is so damn cool, and the fact that you have projectors on a car that don't come with them can make you feel special. But if I were to do it again, I'd go with cheaper projectors like TSXs. I could've saved over $200 if I got TSXs instead. But of course, they're no where near as good as s2ks.

Brand & model: V-LEDS 48 M-SMT PCB Dome light
Price paid and from where: $20 + shipping on ebay
Pros: Bright as can be and fit nicely in the dome. No blue-ish tint like most white LEDs
Cons: ..... haven't found any yet, unless you think it's too bright lol
Final verdict: Worth every penny, great when trying to find anything in the car.

Brand & model: DDM Tuning (Apexcone) 6000k HIDs
Price paid and from where: $110 shipped from ddmtuning.com
Pros: Cheap price, tiny digital ballasts, lifetime warranty. NO FLICKERING.
Cons: Didn't use their relay kit and made my own, so time consuming I guess.
Final verdict: Light output from stock housing is fantastic and I would never go back to halogen. Highly recommended.

Brand & model: Kiaxen 6000k
Price paid and from where: $380 (installed) from RZ Motoring
Pros: Look great, durable, distance is further due to increased light
Cons: Flickers once on each side after a few minutes
Final verdict: If I didnt have enough money for a retrofit, this would be the brand I would buy for the plug and play kit.

Brand & model: Generic 01-03 Civic Fog Lights
Price paid and from where: $40 Shipped on eBay
Pros: Great OE Look
Cons: If you're picky about fitment, they're going to take hours to install.
Final verdict: Keep in mind this is not a direct bolt on item. You need to use L brackets to mount them, and if you want to get them to fit near perfect, you are going to have to shave the plastic housing down on the edges little by little until you get them where you want them. Installation onto the bumper took me about one hour.

Example Here

As for the wiring, they come with a ****ty wiring harness and a switch for a civic that I couldn't use. So I went to the Autoparts store and bought a Fog Light wiring kit ($12) and a rocker switch ($2) to match the one I already have for my highbeams.

Wiring took all of 15min.

If you have any questions PM me.

Brand: Onex 6k HID kit
$$$: $250
Pros: Great color & output. Easy to install & reliable quality.
Cons: Don't have any, price is good on this one.
Final Verdict: There are a lot of other companies selling these HID kits but I think for the money, this is a must have. You can probably get em' for less now too.
