Here is mine and my father-in-law's most recent project.
Its a 52 Chevy Pickup Long-bed
Plans:
Shorten frame and bed to make it a short-bed
Lowered with complete independent front suspension and c-notched rear
5.3 Vortec (Basically an iron block LS-1)
4L60E w/overdrive
A lot of little details to be worked out, I'll keep this post updated as we go.

Update 6/23/2012:
Made some progress today. Mounted the cab back on the frame and started planning out the bracing so that we can start cutting the floor out.
Went ahead and cut part of the passenger side floor out.
Also, we picked up one of the motors we bought. Ended up being a 5.3L vortec, which is basically an iron block LS1.
Update 8/26/2012:
We've replaced all the cab corners as well as the front half of the floor. We've got to do a little bit more work to finish up the rear corners then we'll move onto the floor.
We've also decided to buy an new independent front suspension set up that welds in. The C10 front end left us sitting higher than we wanted and was just a bit too wide.
Update 9/7/2012:
Well we worked pretty much the whole Labor Day weekend except for Saturday, and got the floor welded in.
Support bracing we've added since we removed the way it was braced previously:
Cutting the rest of the old floor out:
New floor pan we cut mounted in place with a few screws:
Welding it all up (disclaimer: I was wearing a welding helmet when I took this photo
):
Ready to be flipped over so we can weld the bottom:
Bottom of the floor mostly welded up, you can see we added another brace to the middle of the floor just to sturdy it up:
Our current objective is to finish the cab and then move onto replacing the bottom half of the doors, as they're pretty well rotted out.
Update 2/2/2013:
It's been quite a while since I updated this. My son was born 10/10/12, so he's received the majority of my attention.
With the major work on the cab completed (besides the doors), we've moved back to the front suspension.
We decided to go with a Mustang II weld in system.
We had to use a small c-notch to allow room for the steering rack
Slotted/Cross Drilled rotors
And we have a rolling Chassis! (rear is temporary though. still trying to figure out what we want to do.)
We've also completed the doors and hung them. We were able to get the latches functioning as well.
Unfortunately I do not have any photos of them at this moment.
We did pick this up in November I think. Always nice to have future toys laying around.
