Color for valve cover?

hey just wondering... what happened if he didn't use the grey paint 1st before the blue paint? cuz i wanna paint mine red...

Yes, you want the gray primer before you put down paint. And make sure to do some sanding work so it comes out smooth. If you just put down coats of paint it will come out crappy.

If you guys are using the Duplicolor paint... make sure to use the Metalcast Base Coat for your primer, because the Metalcast paint specifically needs that stuff for it to look shiny and nice. Trust me, I used regular primer with it.... looked pretty bad. :thumbsup:

once i do my VC, it will be king. that is all i can say, haha.

I got some ideas too, but i need to buy another VC. Right now, i have to do it with the one i use, i always have to take time into account.




I always thing the VC is a good place to experiment. I've done mine like 6 times now. I've color matched, subtle, bright, bright as ****, art, etc. You can always redo.
